ShP launch Haiti Earthquake Appeal
20 January, 2010
ShP Solutions—a division of ShP Limited, one of Europe’s largest electronics recyclers—has launched a Haiti Quake appeal whereby redundant electrical devices will be recycled and value extracted to help the massive relief operation.
The campaign will run until the end of January and organisations can donate mobile phones and other electrical items such as laptops—working and non-working—to help raise funds for the appeal.
Haiti was hit by a catastrophic earthquake measuring a magnitude of 7.0 on Tuesday 12th January. It is believed that up to 200,000 have died and hundreds of thousands of people are in desperate need of aid.
Simon Walsh, sales and marketing director for ShP Limited said:
“We’re committed to helping the people of Haiti rebuild their lives. We’re asking businesses to send us their working or broken phones and IT equipment to help raise funds for those desperately in need of aid. We must act immediately to help and we’re encouraging all of our partners, customers and their employees to get behind our appeal.”
All proceeds from the appeal will help to provide food, shelter and water for the Quake victims.
